When indentured servant Ash makes a mistake during what should be a routine armor repair, he thinks the adventurers will take their pound of flesh as payback. Everyone knows, after all, they can't be stopped. Stronger, faster, and armed with magic, nobody is willing to step in an adventurers way when they're angry. Instead, they barter for his life's contract. If life is already as painful as it is at the blacksmith's, surely being owned by a group of super humans will be much, much worse? Lydia wants to help the kid working at the smith's, but it's hard to do that when he's a stiff breeze away from fainting in terror at all times around her. And, admittedly, the idea of having somebody else to handle her cleaning is appealing. Surely it wasn't a mistake to buy the kid in front of him?
