Fics like To Bloom

It is said that three hundred years ago, humanity was almost completely eradicated by a deadly and incurable disease. Only those that managed to flee to the shelter provided by the Divine Tree survived. This event came to be known as the Calamity, marking the end of the Common Era and the start of the Divine Era. The truth however, is that the Calamity had not been caused by a disease at all, but by the Vertex, monsters originating from the distant stars. During the Calamity, five heroes fought to protect the island of Shikoku from the invading Vertex. They succeeded, but the Vertex were only repelled, not eradicated, and so their hard-won peace was bound to come to an end one day. In the present day, the Vertex have returned, and Shikoku is once again in need of heroes. Arise, brave champions, and bring salvation to humanity. (cross-posted from SB)
