Fics like The best time to plant a tree was thirty years ago

A few weeks after Tetsuya’s injury prompted confessions backstage — long overdue, Yukihiro had stressed — Hyde receives visitors. As he waits for Tetsuya, he realizes the one that has to come to an answer is himself. It takes thirty years for Hyde to acknowledge he has always been in love with them. And seven days to do something about it. Let’s form a band together, Tetsuya had said in a tiny storage closet. Cheap cigarettes and cheaper lipstick. “Come over,” Hyde says. The rain letting up, something more colourful streaking across the sky. When he opens his eyes, a sliver of it had spread across the black granite by his arm.
