Fics like The Bower of the Phoenix

Atop the sacred mountain, there lived the Great Firebird. In the foothills was the Monastery of the Plumed One, her sworn protectors. Every few years, there is a ritual that must be seen to, as part of the Monastary's sacred duty. It is not a duty they relish, but one that must be done. This is the story of one performer of that duty, and the way in which it went somewhat differently than usual.
