Fics like Desert Sunset

After her ACI career is cut short, Lucy starts a new identity and new life in Sandrock unaware that foul play and a certain yakboy will interrupt her peace. In a town full of secrets, a woman with secrets of her own will find the friends, family and love she never thought she'd have - and she'll do anything to protect them. Logan is a man struggling with demons. When the new builder blows into his life she upends everything, making him face his fears and dragging him into a future he never thought he'd get to have. This story is a canon divergence of the basic plot. Lucy and Logan meet way earlier here than in the game. **Big spoilers for the main plot.** This is both a love story and character study at heart. **Story gets really dark in several chapters. Read the beginning notes for trigger warnings relevant to the chapter and take them seriously.** Yes, I tagged mental health issues for a reason. We do not like Pen here. This is a full adventure that begins the "Desert Spy AU" series. This can be read completely stand-alone, unresolved plot threads are very minor and are resolved by the short stories in the AU series.
