Fics like you'll never know, dears, how much we love you

“Let’s get inside.” Bruce scooped Damian up and took Jason’s hand. Jason grumbled, mumbling and making noises that may have been words. “Ummi?” Damian whined. He looked around unsurely, saying more words in Arabic — the League dialect. Bruce only caught a few words; things like ‘where’ and ‘home’. His heart broke a little at that. Damian didn’t understand what was happening, must not have had anything explained. All he knew was that he’d been left with some strange man and his mother wasn’t around. “Your ummi isn’t here right now,” Bruce said gently. “I’m Bruce. Your father.” “Father?” “Yes. I’m going to take care of you and your brother for a bit.” ~ Talia al Ghul leaves a catatonic Jason and four-year-old Damian for Bruce to take care of.
