Fics like All For a Good Ending

For 10 years, the Soul Stone watched as Peter dove deeper and deeper into the ocean of guilt and regret, losing one person after another until he died by sacrifice to save the last person he had left. Peter's story was a tragic one. One that it had desperately hoped to turn up, wanting him to be happy. It wanted a happy holder of it's power. Perhaps pseudo-immortality was cruel, despite how much good he had done by staying alive even if he wished he hadn't. But it'll be ok. It'll make it right. It met him when everything had truly taken a turn for the worst. Just once, it wants a holder that's just happy. That lives a fulfilling life.
