Fics like and i should be somewhere far away, taking cover

According to the local police, James Novak was found wandering the side of the road with no memory of who he was or how he got there. According to the FBI, James Novak was kidnapped several years ago by the infamous Winchester brothers, who were rising through the ranks of the FBI’s Most Wanted. According to Dean Winchester, who just broke James out of jail, his name is Cas and he wears a trench coat. James still doesn’t know what to think, or who he is. Right now, he’s just hoping to play ‘Cas’ until he gets a chance to escape Dean Winchester unscathed. But the more time he spends with Dean, the more James wonders who he really is, and who he wants to be. AKA, the police find amnesiac!Cas in season 7 instead of Daphne Allen doing it. Title taken from the song "Back At Your Door" by Orville Peck and Debbii Dawson
