Fics like Bijou: the Sparkling Diamond’s Cat

Missing scenes from a canon-divergent universe in which Satine gets a cat named Bijou. The duality of Bijou is this: Bijou matters immensely, because the greatest thing you’ll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return and, like Satine’s friends and Christian, Bijou loves Satine with her whole entire heart. Bijou has no impact whatsoever on Satine’s fate because, like Satine’s friends and Christian discover, love is not enough to prevent death and disease. But that does not make the love matter any less.
