Fics like children of the grave

Not for the first time, Peter realizes how much everyone has changed and how little he knows them. He envisions his mentor: married, retired, and with a daughter, and wonders how much of that statement is true. Does he have a dog? Does he still eat Asian food with a fork? Did he miss Peter? Peter is the first to look away. There’s a knot at the back of his throat and a sting in his eyes he can’t explain. His leg bounces. His knuckles crack. He no longer feels a part of a circle he so desperately fought to be in because he’s been replaced by a kid who hates him. OR: After Tony survives the snap, Peter comes back, unsure if he still belongs in Tony’s life.
