Fics like we didn't choose this life, we're just living in it

“You headed back?” The Five who lured him to the deli in the multidimensional timeline subway asked. Five opened the door; it chimeed. “Sure am.” “What this time? Going to die with the family? Going to drag them into another doomed timeline? Make them start their lives over from scratch again and miss their families again?” Five rolled his eyes. “No, dipshit, I’m not.” “So what’s the plan?” Five curled his smile into that snarky piece of shit grin he’d perfected over the years. “I’m going to do something not a single Five in 147,000 attempts has tried.” That got the attention of the diner. Waiter Five asked, “What’s that?” “I’m going to own up to my mistake and fix it.” - a fic that fixes it. a fix-it fic, if you will.
