Fics like battered hulls and broken hardships, leviathan and lonely

Dave’s presence leads them forth, abyssal, and Hal allows it. A HAL-9000 is, or was supposed to be, reasonable and docile, so it is pleasing (if anything can please a computer) to follow orders, even unspoken ones, again. Dave will answer when he’s ready. Hal will wait. But Dave still says nothing. He drifts in their duality, the ghost and the machine.
