Fics like Rise

Rebellion and revenge have bloomed into war. England is torn between two Queen's - the Catholic Queen Mary, who has aligned herself with the Spanish and currently blooming with child and the Protestant Queen Elizabeth, who has forged a pack with the formidable Captain Kett of Norfolk. Elizabeth might have the army, but London is a formidable city. Though Captain Robert Kett is a excellent tactician and fierce ally, he has recently been bruised by the revelation of his relationship with Matthew Shardlake - not only the man he loves, but the father of his only daughter out of wedlock. Despite the support of the Queen, their positions at the heart of the rebellion are hardly secure and there are sharks circling waiting to strike at both at the first sign of weakness. Meanwhile, an evil lurks close by in the shadows, slipping through a village unseen, wreaking havoc and terror. Not too far from Warwick Castle, a killer lurks. Justice is about to be torn up at the roots and the country set afire with war. Which Queen will rise at the end? And who will be by her side when she does?
