Fics like An Error in the Cat Distribution System

Dream has always wanted a cat. Soon, Soon he'd get a cat. That was until he heard banging outside, like something was moving around in the metal trash bins that were in the alley outside his window. Checking out the trash cans, he struggled to open the lid to see what was making the noise, again- expecting to find and shoo away some raccoons. Instead, there he found a cat. OR Sheltered human Dream lives in a city with a bunch of other races, yet doesn't question when things start to go missing as soon as he adopts a new cat. That 'cat' shows his appreciation a few months later.
