Fics like Fondness in a Flower

Paint strokes of pink and orange arc across the sky. The sun seems to brush infinitely close to the horizon, the gentle golden light spilling across the field of sunflowers in a flood. In the middle of that field of flowers, a boy sits, his gaze downcast. “So this is where you’ve been,” Hirano says, standing behind his idiot kouhai, alternatively known as Kagiura Akira. Kagiura looks up at Hirano with red-rimmed, teary eyes. It’s Hirano’s birthday. He’s spending the summer with Kagiura, who has a surprise planned for him—except things don't all go as planned. But sometimes it takes a few mishaps to learn that love is in the little things, from the brilliance of a sunflower to the sweetness of a strawberry.
