Fics like The Bequest

“A soulmate is someone who will come when you pull on the thread binding you together, not because fate tied it but because you did. You tied it yourselves with a forever kind of knot.” --@galacticidiots x.com Before his death, Albus Dumbledore left a bequest to the students of Hogwarts who spent their youth fighting the second Wizarding War. Each returning student will receive a soulmark on their next birthday, matching the person with whom they are the most compatible in all the world. The returning Eighth Years navigate a restructured school and the uncertain landscape of their soulmarked hearts. Can the new Head Boy and Head Girl survive the year and each other? Ten years later, Hermione Granger has a flourishing career but never found her soulmate. All her friends are paired off and have started families of their own. Resigned to her fate, Hermione seeks a charm to suppress her deepest desires. The magic at play is rare, complex, and demanding. Is there a cure for an unfulfilled heart?
