Fics like out of the cold

Never in his eight-year career in this league had Alex witnessed such an intense and melodramatic reaction to a trade. In theory, he knew that Henry Fox was considered a big deal, but that didn’t mean that he understood why. The fact of the matter was that he knew exactly who Henry Fox was. Henry Fox, Son of Hockey Royalty. Henry Fox, the bane of Alex’s existence. or, a professional hockey au where nhl superstars alex and henry have been rivals since they were sixteen years old. eleven years later, in a move that completely rocks the entire NHL and its fanbase, they become teammates. alex swears to himself that he just wants to keep his head down, stay in his own lane and play hockey. but, well, alex has never been good at doing either of those things when it comes to henry fox. a few mishaps and a round of damage control later force them to put their differences aside for the sake of their team, and if it also has alex reconsidering his stance on fox quite substantially, that’s no one’s business but his own, right?
