Fics like covering up a bad memory

“Um,” Zane tries to fill the silence. He already fucked up again. Why does he always do this? Should he apologize? Change the subject? Pretend like it was never brought up? Right. Because Dad smashed a plate when he found out that Zane wasn’t going to get honour’s roll after his C minus in his physics class. Garroth was the one to defend him from their father, who their mother was desperately trying to calm down. “It’s just a grade! He’ll do better next year,” She would shout. Fuck. Now Zane really needs to change the subject. “Uh, anyway–” “Are you still working on that scar?” or; After Zane puts off a haircut he desperately needs due to his hairstylist moving away, he sadly decides to go to his older brother for help. It'll be just like high school.
