Fics like The New War

John is left reeling after the events of The Dancing Men. He's injured, rattled, and Sherlock hasn't spoken a word since Abe's death. Oh, and the nightmares are back. John left behind the army and thought he was starting new, starting a life away from the fighting. But now he's found himself with Sherlock Holmes, a man whose often quite dangerous job he's become entangled in. Now it's gotten him shot, and John and Sherlock grapple with the implications of their lives before, their lives now, and their future together.
