Fics like memories are brittle at their best

“Six thousand years, Childe,” Zhongli hisses, taking another swig of the vile alcohol the Fatui import from their homeland. “Six thousand years. It was unavoidable that I misplace something.” “And I am so glad it was pitiful, whiny love letters,” Childe snickers, topping up his glass. “To a colleague, no less.” There is nothing to do but drink. Zhongli will have to endure weeks of this, more if nothing more titillating comes along to distract the people’s memory once the exhibition has run its course. Zhongli had completely forgotten about these unsent letters, until Hu Tao comes up with her ridiculous plan. Now he has to cope with the reactions of everyone in Liyue Harbor and beyond, and not least of all, those of the intended recipient. What is Venti to him, in this new era?
