Fics like know that you're safe (there's no more harm to be done)

Christopher isn’t here. Buck clings to the small comfort with every sound that reverberates through the house. It's all he really has, trapped as he is. The hall closet they shoved him into is far too small, forcing his knees to his chest. Handcuffs dig unforgivingly into the skin of his wrists, keeping his arms trapped behind him, and his ankles are bound with rope. There’s a gag in his mouth tied too tight around his head and he can feel the slow trickle of blood from a cut at his temple. It’s not the first time he’s been pistol whipped, and it’s no better the second time around. Something shatters in another room and Buck flinches, the movement pulling at his aching shoulders and dragging a muffled whimper from his throat.
