Fics like Birds of a Feather

She went to the island intending to capture evidence of a bird that was thought of as extinct. Instead she ends up being captured. This was originally was going to be a one-shot. Vaas isn’t necessarily attached to her as a whole, real person — he’s attached to the version of her he’s built in his mind. She’s become a symbol for him, a living echo of his own trauma, loneliness, and twisted need for control.
