Who could blame Wilson for shooting his shot? Certainly not Harry. If he were in Wilson’s shoes, if he wasn’t the judge— But he is the judge, and Dan is the assistant district attorney assigned to his court, and so it’s not even worth thinking about. Besides, Harry thinks, punching his pillow to fluff it back into shape. Dan’s not even gay. He said so. …Then again, Harry thinks suddenly. No, he didn’t. Dan never came right out (pardon the pun) and said he wasn’t gay. He whined and snarked and glared daggers at Art for asking, but he never actually said that Wilson was barking up the wrong tree. Maybe it was Wilson specifically who wasn’t Dan’s type. Maybe Dan likes his men a little younger, a little taller, a little skinnier. A little more blond. The same way he likes his women. Because he definitely likes women. That Harry knows. But maybe, like Harry, he likes men too. Or: how Harry and Dan get together, from Harry’s point of view. Companion piece to Judicial Impropriety.
