Fics like A Great Inheritance

About a year and a half after the events of Revelation, Shardlake and Barak are making do, though bits of their lives remain a bit shattered by those events. Barak still cannot mend his relationship with Tamasin. Shardlake still mourns Roger in fits, those starts and stops of grief, alongside wrestling with his complicated feelings around faith. Another thing that comes in starts and stops. In the midst of this, a man comes asking for Shardlake's help in a strange case involving a centuries old murder, a potential curse, folklore, and, of course, property law. Shardlake and Barak are quickly drawn into yet another dark, tangled mystery linking past and present, the dead and the living. In the midst of this Shardlake and Barak also find themselves drawn into their own tangled mess of feelings. (Because obviously they have no feelings for one another at all.)
