Fics like an inch away from more than just friends

Nat realises what she’s about to say a second before it comes out, a week’s worth of build-up tumbling out unbidden. “I think I want to try it. You know, with a girl. Just so I can stop fucking wondering. Just so I can finally know.” Somehow that feels even more exposing than anything else she’s said so far. God. She wants to try it out. Did she really have to word it like that? Like something she can just try on for size and then put back on the rack if she doesn’t like it or it doesn’t fit right? She wonders if Lottie will tell her to fuck off, or grow up, or— “I could do it.” Nat blinks. “What?” “If you want to try a girl,” Lottie says. “If you would rather try with someone you know rather than a total stranger, I’ll do it.”
