Fics like Sometimes Falling is Like This

Falling, from a certain perspective, is like this: You’re on the carpet and Michael is requesting you hand in your halo on the way down, there’s a good… er, there’s a lad, and you’re wondering how in the place-that-will-be-soon-be-Hell you got there. You’ve sauntered over a line at some point, but you’d be buggered if you could pin down the exact moment. Or it's more like this: You’re lounging around the back room of a bookshop in the days after the End of the World. The angel is being sweetly, benignly rude to a customer in a triumph of passive aggression. Next thing you know, your knees feel like jelly and your skin is burning and your heart is hammering and you’re wondering what the Heaven, pardon your language, has happened to you, and when it started happening. Crowley did what any sensible demon would. He fled the bookshop.
