Fics like her mother's blood

Sometimes, Deana catches Dad looking at her, something intense in his gaze as he surveys every inch of her. In those moments, she knows he’s looking at her and thinking of Mary, measuring her from feet to forehead in comparison with his dead wife and finding her just a little short. In those moments, she has to resist the urge to apologise. I’m sorry I’m not her. I’m sorry she’s not here and instead you have me. The imperfect reincarnation. The eternal reminder. Deana Winchester, through the years. OR: my thesis on gender-swapped dean winchester, from childhood to stanford era <3
