Fics like A Spoonful of Sparkle
“A spoonful of sugar makes the medicine go down easier.” — someone irrelevant to this story. You heard what sounded like a gunshot ring out through the alleyway, and in the blink of an eye, your world was an ocean of colors and shapes. A kaleidoscope of luminance and geometry, the likes of which you’d never seen before. You tried to scream, but no sound came out. You tried to flail, but your muscles were no longer yours. You were swimming through the stars while simultaneously looking up at them, all the while shades and hues melted into each other in an optical illusion that made your head throb and your teeth sing. It looked and felt stronger than any drug you’d ever accept. Did the little bitch drug you? Or, perhaps… There was no time to think. Suddenly, you were on your back. Suddenly, Sparkle was riding you. She’d emerged from the rainbow fog like a specter of shining lights, and her laughter filled your ears and wrapped itself around your brain like a weighted blanket.
