Fics like Lost Boy

The eggs tasted even better than they looked—fluffy and buttery with just the right amount of salt. Objectively, they were much better than any of the meals he had over the past five years. So why did eating them fill him with revulsion? “Finney, what’s wrong?” A tear trickled down his cheek, followed by several more. “I—” He swallowed. His shoulders trembled, and he sniffled. Unable to endure the alarmed concern in his father and sister’s eyes, he focused on the plate in front of him. “I shouldn’t be here.” And then that ugly, beautiful truth ripped through his skin like a shirt several sizes too small: “I should be with Al. I want to be with Al.” **** After five years of captivity, Finney Blake is finally reunited with his family. He agrees to testify against his kidnapper, but the wounds on his heart run much deeper than the ones on his body, and doing so might not be easy. But just because something isn’t easy doesn’t mean it’s not worth doing.
