Fics like blood sticks, sweat drips

“What’s the difference, then?” demands Spike, and grabs ahold of her hand. He brings it tight against his wound, pushing so that Buffy’s fingers dig into the meat and the blood. “I bleed, don’t I? Look after you and the bit? I love you, Slayer.” “You don’t.” “‘Course I sodding do,” he says. “You just say that ‘cause it makes you feel better. Doesn’t fit your worldview, to know a thing like me could love someone like you." “That’s not it,” says Buffy, and immediately wishes she hadn’t.
