He pauses, lifting the box higher, offering it to him. “Kakavasha, I have always been yours. But… will you be mine?” Kakavasha stares at Veritas. He stares at him for a long moment, after which he cracks a tiny smile. A smile that only grows. Soon it expands into laughter. It’s an empty sound, and it bubbles in his chest like the sparkling wine that must be messing with his head. “Doctor,” he chuckles, holding the rose against his heart, “I… I’m starting to think you might like me.” And that can’t be right. ...in which Veritas is helplessly in love, and Kakavasha couldn't be any more oblivious.
