Fics like in another universe (we are intertwined)

Inspired by @frownyalfred and @the-ghost-of-jason-todd on Tumblr! "Bruce doesn’t know what’s wrong. He doesn’t understand why he feels like he just lost something important, something precious. He doesn’t understand why the tears keep coming in a way they haven’t since he was eight years old. He doesn’t understand why he feels like he’s grieving something. Somewhere deep in the bizarre anguish, he thinks, 'In another universe.' He doesn’t know why, but he’s so certain that 'in another universe, our lives crossed. Not only crossed, but were intertwined.'" Or: Bruce Wayne is Batman, and he is alone. He has always been alone, and he will always be alone. There are moments when he thinks maybe he doesn't have to be - that he wasn't always - but he knows. They are better off without him. Safer without him. Happier without him. And why would they be with him in the first place? They're strangers. They've always been strangers.
