Fics like A Lover's Lament

Ten years ago, Selene Wavecrest, the bard who saved Baldur's Gate, vanished. Whispers say she died a hero's death. But the truth is far uglier. Now, in the glittering city of Athkatla, Selene thrives as Estelle Voix, a celebrated singer. Her voice, once a weapon of war, now weaves a different kind of spell, enthralling audiences with its beauty. Her career hinges on an upcoming performance – her final shot at joining The Silver Comet, a prestigious traveling troupe. But, fate throws a cruel hand when Astarion, his dark presence as potent as ever, materializes in the front row. Silence is a death sentence. Her voice, the very tool of her success, could betray her. It's the same voice that once whispered promises to him, promises shattered by her escape. A twisted performance unfolds, fueled by Astarion's obsessive affection. He transforms Athkatla into his personal hunting ground, determined to reclaim the woman who defied him and his dark designs. One question hangs heavy in the air: Can Selene's perfect disguise hold, or will the price of defying Astarion be her very existence?
