Fics like honey, don't feed me, i will come back

Throughout his life, Sam Wilson had grown used to the feeling of being watched. The careful, loving eye of his mama as she sat on the porch and watched him play in the yard with his sister as a kid. The judgemental, fearful stares from white strangers as he went on his evening walks alone in a new city. The heated gaze of an admirer in one of the many clubs he found himself at in his early 20s. The calculated, steady survey of his superiors in the Air Force, watching him from the ground as he soared into the sky. Sam knew what they all felt like, and various others in between. He knew whether a stare that he felt was malicious or friendly; whether he would have to get ready for a fight or turn on the charm for whoever was waiting for him when he turned around. But recently, Sam had been introduced to a new kind of stare; the cold, predatory gaze of one James Buchanan Barnes. --- Sam tracking Bucky down in Civil War.
