Fics like Peace and Quiet

It’s a busy day in the Palais Mermonia, although that’s nothing new for Neuvillette. Even the level of busyness, both in general and for him personally, isn’t new anymore. It’s a busy day, but it’s also a perfectly normal day. It also happens to be a loud day. For whatever reason, the emotions in the water have slipped through the mental barrier he’s carefully crafted over centuries, ringing around in his head and demanding to be heard and paid attention to. He’s not sure why; he’s not any more stressed than usual and he’s been handling himself well. Maybe there was another crack that he missed, that he couldn’t patch over in time. He should be better at catching them by now, but… well, it doesn’t really matter after the fact, does it? ~*~ The prophecy of Fontaine has come and gone, everything is slowly going back to normal, or as close to normal as it can get. But for Neuvillette, 'normal' is a chaos in his mind usually kept at bay. A chaos that every so often breaks through his barriers and sends him spiraling. A chaos that has chosen to break through now.
