The air is fresh in Arin's lungs as he breathes in, strangely so considering how deeply the procession has wound into the coils of the earth, and pale vines sprawl across the cavern floor, growing in the absence of light. There's a pool at the back of the chamber, roughly semicircular in form, and the water, mirror-flat, devours the torchlight in its black depths. Not a single reflection to break the ink-dark surface. The head priestess gestures to the stone altar in the center of the room, her blue and silver sleeve rustling, and Arin manages the strength to nod.
