Fics like KING'S CAGE

Centuries ago, the Doom Kingdom was cursed by the god Solaris, condemning its inhabitants to an eternity of twilight and despair as punishment for their insatiable bloodlust. In order to keep their people from dying of famine, their leader declared war on the surrounding kingdoms, raiding their territories for food and medicine -- an act that only further pushed them away from any chance at salvation. Now, after Black Doom's mysterious death, his son, Shadow, was crowned king. With seemingly no end to the death and destruction in sight, Sonic, disguised as a humble jester, is sent to infiltrate the Doom Kingdom and assassinate their ruler, putting an end to the war for good.
