Fics like FlapJacks and Heat Stroke are the Start of an Epic Love Story

John Dory was born with a soulmark. The words twisted and twined around his wrist in orange slightly messy handwriting. "What in the Name of Reba are ya doin'?! Ya come in here like a twister an' on top of that ya ruined my flapjacks!" Needless to say, even before he met her, JD didn't think he would make the best impressions. And what were flapjacks? ... Delta Dawn was born with a soulmark. The words twisted and twined around her ankle in teal messy scrawl. "I really am dying aren't I?" Delta was used to death. It came with living in the Flats. However, she really hoped that her soulmate wasn't actually dying when they met...or at least they would let her try to save them.
