Fics like Connecting the Dots

“Birthdays are for rich folks, love,” he says, his voice gentle and exceedingly patient. “For people who grow up like me, another journey round the sun’s nothing to celebrate. Reckon after the first year or so even my ol’ mum would’ve blanked on the exact date. Sink or swim out there, y’know? We were just trying to survive.” Stede feels like he's been stabbed. (OR: A conversation about astrological signs reveals that Ed doesn't know his birthday. Stede gifts him his first-ever birthday present: a date, and a star sign. Just a fluffy, eventually smutty two-shot that wouldn't let me rest until I wrote it 💕)
