Fics like everything happens for a reason. sometimes that reason is that you are stupid and make bad decisions.

Unfortunately, Lex takes one look at Cadmus’s progress report on the newly-crafted Experiment Thirteen and realizes he has paternal instincts. Well, that’s inconvenient. And a little disgusting, honestly. Certainly a disappointment. He supposes it could be worse. He could be Lionel about this. Anyway, that’s how he has a physiological four year-old on his lap when he hears the news about Superman coming back to life and fistfighting an evil cyborg with his own face about it, because of course the man didn’t have the decency to just stay dead. Why would he, after all? Lex needs a drink.
