Fics like it's hard to be at a party when i feel like an open wound

He hears it the first time as a child. Five year old Alex Claremont-Diaz, bright eyed and beaming, explaining to a kid on the playground how cool it Star Wars is and how he wants to be just like Luke Skywalker when he's older. He's rambling, eager to share his excitement with his new friend… until the boy rolls his eyes and says the words that would follow Alex around for years after. “Oh my god, would you shut up? You talk too much.” (Or: Alex's struggles with himself and his eventual breaking point.)
