Fics like Never to be caught (Old)

Hiccup doesn’t go after Astrid. He decides her mind can’t be changed, and the whole village has always hated him, so why bother? So he frees the other dragons and flees, believing Astrid will spread the tale of his insanity like wildfire. Whether she does or not is a mystery to him, because he doesn’t stick around to find out. Along his travels, he is called a demon, hailed as a savior, known as a friend, and found again as a son. Something will always call him back to Berk though. Danger, probably. It’s an occupational hazard, not just of a Viking. ! BEING REWRITTEN ! I started this story back in highschool, and my writing has gotten a lot better since then IMO. To be honest, the first few chapters of this were written in my notes app on my phone while ignoring my classwork, as I didn't have a personal laptop. I have different ideas for the story now, but the core of the idea largely remain the same. Chapter one of the rewritten version is posted.
