The doctors start prepping them, as a flood of interns come into the room to watch two grown men be pulled apart like two meats on a stick. “That x-ray is giving soulmates.” One of the interns says as they inspect the x-ray still hung up on the wall. “What the hell does giving soulmates mean?” Buck murmurs against Ravi’s shoulder, quiet enough that it’s just for them. Ravi laughs. Or: Buck and Ravi get pinned together by a rebar pole. They get a few stitches, a broken arm and a platonic soulmate in exchange.
