Fics like they hunger for dreams (they dream of hunger)

Only a week ago, Geralt and Jaskier walked into a tiny town on the outskirts of the mountains. They had time for one look around: the shacks for homes, the loose, decayed dirt at their feet, and trees with wide cracks in their trunks. Then the villagers descended upon them. Or: Geralt and Jaskier are offered a hefty chunk of coin to lead a down-on-their-luck village through a mountain range. However, when the journey takes much longer than expected, temperatures plummet, and food runs scarce, Geralt must choose between Jaskier and the villagers he has sworn to protect. For Jaskier, this is a hard choice. For Geralt, it's not.
