Fics like Just Stay

It's the spring of Stuart's sophomore year. Margalo has returned each year from finding herself out there in the world, to the one who helped set her free. With adulthood on the horizon, during one particularly tense card game, both start to think of how very different lives they lead, and what kind of future, if any, there could be between them. Originally posted to fanfic sometime last year. Basically an exploration of how the bird and mouse go about pulling the trigger and calling themselves boyfriend and girlfriend after years of crushing on each other. I remember I really had fun with the prose with this one, and I hope it shows. These two are so unbelievably cute and like some of my other favorite ships like, there is either wasn't enough material about them when I was stuck on them, or they were stupidly fascinating to get into because of the cross-species difficulties.
