Fics like This Time For Sure

Ren did it. He won. He defied fate itself and beat the rigged game. Through sheer will power alone, he pulled through and ended the False God's life, putting a bullet through its head for good measure. But at what cost? His teammates, his family, everyone who he knew, everyone he ever cared about... They died, because he wasn't good enough, because he wasn't strong enough. Igor gives him a chance. A chance to right his wrongs, to help another fight their own fate, to defy their own fate. He takes it with only a second's hesitation, determined to save those he could not save before. But does he have the will power left in him to succeed? Not even he knows the answer to that. But maybe that's exactly what he needed. A fresh start. A fresh game that was ripe for rigging, and he'll be damned if he allows it to be one-sided this time around. He'll make sure no one suffers like he did... No one.
