Fics like the beasts inside

"What happened to him, Jonas? Why is he one of them? How?" They're short on time, and she wants answers that need a lot of time. So he does what comes too easy. He lies. "We thought he was dead." We'd hoped he was dead. "We were wrong. He survived, he hunted, he fed." She sees right through the bullshit this time. The scales have fallen from her eyes now, he can't placate her with lies and half-truths anymore. Maybe part of her has always suspected, maybe that's why all these years there's been a divide that none of them - not Jonas, not his mother, not Katherine or Will - could cross. "You're still lying. You've lied all these years - how?! How can you keep lying to me?!" - (Rewrite of the scene where Rachel questions Jonas about how Caleb is alive and after them.)
