Fics like Loss and Hope

In the early 1960s, Oswald's star has faded to nearly nothing, leaving his and Ortensia's lives hanging by barely beating hearts. Buoyed by mediocre comics, their situation becomes more bleak when Universal cancels their contract. Meanwhile, Walt Disney is wrestling with what to do about his toons whose hearts are beginning to fade. Spurred on by Yen Sid, he races to create a home for them, but will it be done in time for the toon who needs it the most? The one who's already a footnote in Walt's rise to fame?
