Fics like I Would Have Said No

Percy rubbed his eyes, a habit of exasperation. “Okay, how exactly do I do this again?” Grover rolled his eyes at Percy. “Blessings aren’t like magic spells, Percy. There’s not necessarily a right or wrong way, especially when I’m pretty sure you’ll be making up an entirely new blessing. You just have to… believe what you say. Deeply. And do what feels right and hopefully the fates will carry your blessing.” “Right,” Percy responded dryly. “You got this Seaweed Brain," Annabeth added. “If I look dumb, I’m figuring out how to smite you both next.” “If you don’t figure this out, I have very little faith you’ll figure out how to smite.” “Shut up, wise girl,” he said, but he was struggling to keep down his smile. -- Percy had never wanted to be a god, but when Camp Half-Blood's barriers are destroyed and Percy is grievously injured defending camp, he isn't given a choice. Percy's doing his best not to drown in the unfairness of it all and instead tries to figure out what exactly it means to be a god of heroes, protector of demigods.
