Fics like Aegis

“Yes?” She raises an eyebrow at him. “I see Red and that new trainer I was telling you about. Andy? Andre? Aston—” “Ash,” Blue corrects, frowning. “Good to know that at least one of us was spared the stupid Pallet Town naming tradition.” “Oh. Oh.” Leaf laughs, looping her arm through Blue’s to drag him towards the two conversing trainers. “I get it. They do look kinda similar, huh? Maybe Ash is a fan. Well, that, or they’re both into pikachus, battling, and dressing like their mom still picks out their clothes.” “Red’s mom does still pick out his clothes,” Blue says, tone heavy with resignation. “But that’s not the point, can’t you tell they—” Blue sighs and rolls his eyes again. “You know what? Nevermind.” Or, Red and Ash try to hide the fact that Ash is Red's alternate self. They didn't factor in Blue's uncanny ability to recognize Red from a mile away.
